Center punching any flat metal surface keeps your drill bit from wandering and puts the hole where you want it.
One hand operation makes this center punch a valued addition to any tool box. Grab the knurled punch handle; press it against the metal to be drilled, and an internal, spring-loaded hammer center punches the metal, placing a small dimple in the surface. Especially useful when working in locations where you do not have room to swing a hammer.
