Product Overview

Enhance your vehicle's driving dynamics by keeping your rear suspension locked down and tight with our ECS Tuning Rear Subframe Bushing Insert Kit!

By locking down the rear subframe, rear suspension geometry is maintained and driveline rigidity is improved, resulting in a more "connected" relationship between driver and machine. Rear suspension feedback is enhanced, rear sway bar upgrades are more effective and a more connected feel between shifter and driveline is created.

Featuring a combination of polyurethane and billet aluminum, these inserts take up the void's found within the rear subframe mounting bushings and do not excessively increase NVH like aluminum inserts. In addition, they do not require removal of the OEM bushings, making installation simpler than a full replacement.

PART DESIGN

-- The Problem: --

  • The factory rear subframe is prone to excessive movement which causes rear suspension misalignment and wondering during sporty driving. The slop from the rear subframe is caused by voids within the OEM rear subframe mounting bushings and aged/worn bushings. This slop translates to a mushy and disconnected feeling rear suspension with unintended suspension & drivetrain geometry leaving room on the table for much improvement.

-- The Solution: --

  • Our ECS Rear Subframe Insert Bushings take up the voids found within these mounting bushings while simultaneously reinforcing the bushing if it's aged or worn out to improve cornering performance and power transfer to the rear tires.

  • Two key components make up the ECS Rear Subframe Bushing Insert Kit: The polyurethane bushing inserts and the metal retention caps.

    • The polyurethane inserts are made from 93A durometer, void-free polyurethane for strength and NVH suppression. They feature a factory molded profile to take up the voids within the rear subframe mounting bushings to reduce bushing deflection and limit overall slop in the suspension and drivetrain.

    • The aluminum retention caps are made from 6061-T6 aluminum for it's strength and lightweight properties. They are black anodized for corrosion protection and properly locate the bushing to keep suspension and drivetrain geometry tight.

  • Each kit includes a set of OEM TTY (Torque-To-Yield) bolts that are required to be replaced and a packet of poly. bushing lubricant to be used during installation.

PERFORMANCE FEATURES

  • By locking the rear subframe into position, your rear suspension is better able to transfer traction to the rear tires by keeping geometry where it's set and allowing the tire to remain in contact with the road. When exposed to hard launches the differential is able to transfer power through the rear subframe with significant improvement in reaction speed and power transfer to the rear tires.

  • By keeping the rear subframe from shifting around with our bushing inserts, your vehicle will be able to launch harder and corner more aggressively with more available traction and greater reaction. By removing the amount of slop or "lash" from the drivetrain, sudden power transfer and cornering loads are less violent as the parts are held tighter together.

  • Our R&D Team tested an APR Stage 2 tuned, 2015 Golf R (DSG) with a stock rear end against our ECS Diff. and Subframe Bushing Inserts and observed an improvement in the 0-60mph time. It's best "P3 Gauge" recorded 0-60mph time was 3.7000 seconds; now that's launching hard!

  • Whether your vehicle is used for street, drag or HPDE, our ECS Rear Subframe Bushing Inserts will keep your rear suspension planted for improved traction when you need it most.

PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT

  • Our Research and Development Team observed many combinations of rear subframes throughout the model years and punished our bushings on a MK5 R32, MK6 Golf R and a MK7 Golf R to validate their performance and long term benefits.

  • Our ECS Rear Subframe Bushing Inserts were designed, engineered, tested and quality inspected by our Research and Development team in our Wadsworth, Ohio facility. We ensured the highest level of precision and quality is delivered throughout rigorous long term product testing and leading edge product development methods.
