The factory mounts on cars are designed from soft rubber often times with a fluid filled center to cushion the NVH for the average car owner. While this may be acceptable for a daily driver, these types of mounts really deprive the car of direct power to the rear wheels. The middle ground is going with a polyurethane design, which is an excellent option for the street performance vehicle. When you're on the track however, running the mounts as solid as you can gets you the best results. Solid mounts remove driveline slop and unnecessary movement so the power created by your engine has a clean channel of travel all the way back to the wheels.
