Dinan Engine Software raises the factory rev-limiter by 150 rpm (8400 rpm maximum), endowing the V-10 with a broader power band and greater road speed potential in each gear. The software also removes the top speed governor, enabling the cars to attain their ''natural'' top speed; and the V-10s WILL pull right to red-line in top gear! The software also speeds up throttle response, providing a sportier feel and improved modulation capabilities.
The combination of Dinan's re-calibration of ignition timing and air/fuel ratios, along with a simple modification to the stock air filter elements, produces a maximum gain of 13?hp @ 8100 rpm and 8 lb-ft torque @ ?8100 rpm when combined with the Dinan high flow throttle bodies. Dinan's software also provides re-calibration of the factory ''torque limiting'' programming, ensuring that maximum power is available under varying driving conditions.

First Spin
After software is installed the engine management computer (DME) needs to adapt to the new programing and takes about 100 miles to complete.? Over the 100 miles the car will become faster and more responsive and so will your heartbeat. ?
Break-in
Dinan Performance Software can be installed at any time over a vehicles life.? If it is installed by the dealer at delivery Dinan suggests to strictly adhere to the BMW break in procedure.
Gas Mileage
It all depends on your right foot, if you drive it gently it will use the same or slightly more gas and if you drive it at wide open it will use more.
Performance Software Stages & Upgrades
