Conventional piston retraction/pad spreader?tools use a simple screw function to press pistons back into the caliper housing. These are simple tools that function well for oldstyle single piston calipers. Where these fall short is when calipers have multiple pistons, as they lack the ability to press on pistons located on both sides of the caliper simultaneously.
