In order to properly lubricate the eccentric shaft gears?in the N55 engine BMW implemented an oil squirter that is known to possibly clog over time. If the oil squirter were to clog or have restricted flow your engine may experience premature wear and possible failure of the Valvtronic or VANOS system.?
In order to replace the squirter you must also remove the valve cover and fuel injectors, which requires replacing their associated gaskets. This kit contains everything you should replace while servicing this system.
