The Volkswagen 7P (Touareg 3) and related Porsche Cayenne (958) platform is an unsuspecting, yet remarkable off-road rig, even in stock form. With features including a Torsen-based transfer case, 7.9 inches of ground clearance and nearly 20" of water fording depth, these are very capable SUV's for the roads that are less traveled. With all of these great features there are some limitations to how far it can be pushed.
Like other trucks and SUV's that tackle the trails you'll need sufficient protection, unless you dare to risk serious damage to critical underbody components as you crawl, creep and drive over treacherous rocks, boulders and steep terrain. As our Engineering Team dove in deeper to the Overland / Off-Road realm we realized the need for a serious skid plate, engineered to properly handle such excursions.
Featuring full coverage from the front bumper all the way to the transfer case, in an easy to install two-piece solution, our skid plate protects the front subframe, oil pan, transmission and transfer case all while maintaining the flattest surface possible to maximize ground clearance. Made in the U.S.A. using thick 1/4" 5052 CNC-bent aluminum with bent up ends to prevent underbody snags and gradual transitions between uneven surfaces. Other design features include factory modeled, anti-snag air ventilation to keep the transfer case and transfer case module cool, along with a two-piece "floating" design between the rubber-mounted front subframe skid plate and the body-mounted transfer case skid plate.

Manufactured in the U.S.A. from high strength 1/4 (6.35mm) 5052 aluminum
Full underbody protection from the front bumper to the transfer case
Features bent up edges to prevent snags and to slide between uneven surfaces
Includes factory modeled, anti-snag air ventilation to keep the transfer case and transfer case module cool while deflecting debris
Features a two-piece "floating" design between the rubber-mounted front subframe skid plate and the body-mounted transfer case skid plate
Designed to have minimal exposed hardware for the flattest belly possible in order to minimize snags while maintaining maximum ground clearance
Includes corrosion-resistant mounting hardware, zinc-plated steel rivet nuts, NVH-isolating gasket strip and an H-seal gasket between front and rear skids
Includes a functional Off-Road Brace, made from 10 ga. cold rolled steel then finish in a wrinkle black powdercoat, to provide a structural mount between the frame rails that is capable of supporting the weight of the front axle
